HUDDDLE – BUILD IN PUBLIC EXTENSION PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: December 2025

Hudddle (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Hudddle – Build in Public Chrome Extension (“the Extension”) collects, uses, and safeguards your information.

By using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The Extension only collects the minimum data required to enable progress tracking and publishing your Build-in-Public updates. The data collected is always user-initiated.

1.1 Authentication Information

When you sign in using Google OAuth, we access:

  • Your Google account email

  • Your Google profile name

  • Your Google profile image (if available)

This is limited to the scopes you explicitly approve during login.

1.2 Website Context (User-Initiated Only)

When you start a work session or publish a progress update, the Extension may read:

  • The active tab’s title

  • The active tab’s URL

This helps you log what you were working on.
The Extension does not track your browsing history, monitor other tabs, or collect background data.

1.3 Screen Captures (Optional)

If you choose to capture your screen, we collect:

  • A screenshot image generated by Chrome’s desktopCapture API

The Extension cannot capture screenshots automatically. You must explicitly confirm each capture through Chrome’s built-in screen picker.

1.4 User Activity (Extension-Only)

To support session tracking, we process:

  • Start and stop times of your work sessions

  • Drafts or notes you write inside the Extension

This data is stored locally or sent to your Hudddle account only when you submit it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data exclusively for the Extension’s core purpose:

  • Authenticate you with your Hudddle account

  • Track your work sessions and progress

  • Help you generate, save, or publish Build-in-Public updates

  • Improve user experience and extension functionality

We do not collect or process information beyond what is required for these features.

3. What We Do NOT Do

We do not:

  • Sell your data

  • Share your data with advertisers

  • Monitor your browsing history

  • Collect data in the background

  • Access or store data unrelated to your extension activity

  • Use your information for credit, financial evaluation, or profiling

  •

4. Data Sharing

We only share your data in these situations:

4.1 With Your Hudddle Account (Core Functionality)

Work session data, captured screenshots, or progress logs are sent to:

https://hudddle-post-feature.onrender.com

as part of publishing your updates.

4.2 With Google (Authentication Only)

Google OAuth handles login.
We do not receive your password or sensitive account access.

No other third parties receive your data.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Local data is stored using Chrome’s storage API.

  • Server submissions are transmitted via secure HTTPS.

  • We do not store unnecessary data or retain data longer than needed.

  • We apply industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

  •

6. Your Choices & Controls

You can:

  • Sign out at any time

  • Delete stored data via the Extension’s settings

  • Uninstall the Extension to stop all data collection

  • Revoke Google OAuth access from your Google Account settings

  •

7. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top.

Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
